General Information

The Second Symposium on Systems Biology of Stem Cells (the first was held at UCI in 2010), will take place June 9-11, 2013. The meeting will start approximately mid-day on June 9th and conclude after lunch on June 11th. This international meeting is devoted to research at the intersection between systems biology and stem cell biology. Meeting activities will include talks by invited speakers, a panel discussion on stem cell therapeutics and systems biology, a poster session, short talks selected from poster abstracts, and a banquet.
Symposium topics include:
    • Gene regulatory networks underlying pluripotency
    • Stem cells and morphogenesis
    • Epigenetics and transcriptional control
    • Lineage dynamics new
    • New approaches for identifying cancer cells
    • Stem cell therapeutics and systems biology (panel discussion)
Further program information for the symposium will be available shortly.
The symposium will be hosted at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center of the National Academies of Science and Engineering, located at 100 Academy Way, Irvine, CA 92617.
Primary symposium sponsors are the UCI Center for Complex Biological Systems, an NIGMS Center for Systems Biology, and the Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center.
